NASA, partners studying Lake Erie algal bloom

As is the case for Chesapeake Bay, the best thing that could happen to Lake Erie's watershed is this: A cessation to pollution-sourcing development. Great that NASA and others are studying the algal-bloom problem, but that's not enough to really, really help the lake.

Lake Erie: Big algae problems, more to come

Lake Erie's huge algae bloom in 2011 covered nearly a fifth of the lake. A new report says warming climate and modern farming are creating ideal conditions for big algae blooms to clog Lake Erie.  Read more about it here.
