Obama's Keystone decision: Just say NO, Mr. President
This NY Times op-ed I just read spells out - quite clearly - why the president should just say no to the monster we know as the Keystone XL pipeline. So, Mr. President, just say no
Burlington-area Vermonters protest the Keystone debacle
I wish I had been able to attend this, but the e-mail advertising this and other protest rallies in Vermont did not, unfortunately, list times and dates. Oh well. I did join friends from Pennsylvania in the giant protest rally in Washington D.C. last year. Great fun.

Keystone pipeline could harm wildlife, Interior Department says
The LA Times notes: "A letter contradicts the State Department's draft environmental
assessment of the pipeline, saying animals could suffer lasting damage."
Hah, I was present at the very protest rally at which the picture with this article was taken. Yahoo! In any case, my only concern with the findings contained in Interior's letter is this: What took so long?
Interior, in its letter, says, in part: "species displacement, increased predation rates and predator travel lanes, increased nest parasitism, vehicle collisions with wildlife … invasive plant species, increased wildfire risk, lower wildlife density, increase in collisions with power lines and electrocutions on power poles … and increase in poaching."
What is so damn hard to understand about this? Just the roads and other infrastructure that would go in as teh pipeline is built would harm our natural heritage.

The Keystone XL debacle and Nebraska and Nebraskans
This op-ed authored by a Nebraskan talks about the building of community to battle an on-rushing monster, a crude oil pipeline. All Americans would do well to join the clan of Nebraskans fighting to keep the Cornhuysker State free of the TransCanada pipeline edebacle/boondoggle.

When to say no (to the Keystone boondoggle)
"Boondoggle" is an appropriate word for the Keystone XL pipeline, for that is exactly what it is. And that boondoggle would be a bigtime generator to our planet's carbon load. Just say no, Mr. President. And the sooner, the better. The NY Times published this editorial today.
